Zyplex blends

To meet customer requirements from a range of industry sectors, we have developed a family of blended polymers, made from 100% British recycled plastic. Each Zyplex blend is rigorously engineered and tested to ensure the highest levels of consistency and reliability and offers significant performance advantages over traditional materials such as wood, steel and concrete.

Zyplex 55

Zyplex 55 combines strength, stiffness and toughness and is ideal for challenging environments where durability is important. Suitable for decking, tongue and groove, construction applications and furniture.

Zyplex 48

Zyplex 48 is strong with superior impact resistance. Suitable for high impact applications such as bollards, street signage and coil stops.

Zyplex 23

Zyplex 23 has been developed to be flexible and to take a nail or screw. Suitable for battens and formwork.

Zyplex 06

Zyplex 06 is for highly durable but thin wall (injection moulded) products such as the ground reinforcement system and buckets and paint trays.  It is tough, strong and impact resistant.

Zyplex properties

Zyplex can be cut, drilled and used like wood. Unlike wood:

  • It does not rot
  • Algae and fungi do not grow on it, so slip resistance is not compromised
  • It does not need preservatives
  • The sawdust is non toxic and coarser than wood, so does not hang in the air and require face masks
  • It does not splinter or crack

The plastics used in Zyplex are chemically stable which means they:

  • Are likely to last over 50 years
  • Are resistant to a wide range of chemicals
  • Resist weathering and UV degradation
  • Do not absorb moisture
  • Can be easily cleaned
  • Are vandal resistant - paint can be easily removed

When compared to concrete, Zyplex:

  • Is half the density so specialist lifting equipment is rarely needed
  • Can be easily cut and drilled and there is no inhalation hazard such as silica dust
  • Suffers no freeze thaw damage, because it does not absorb moisture
  • Is tough so does not chip
  • Is chemically resistant to acidic soils
