Iplas charged with making key input at new eco-friendly police HQ

The UK’s leading manufacturer of high-quality recycled plastic products is playing an arresting role in the development of Humberside Police’s new £28m headquarters.

Nearly 9,000m2 of Zypave porous paving blocks, which are produced by Halifax-based Iplas, have been installed on the project in Hull’s Clough Road, which is due to open in 2013. .Read more (PDF 74Kb)

Local school shows it’s ahead of the game with recycled play area

Children from a Yorkshire school showed they were on top form when they enlisted the help of Iplas to create their new playground.

The Halifax-based firm, the manufacturer of the Zyplex range of sustainable building products, provided the material made out of recycled bottle tops to create the fencing for the boundary of the multi-use games area (MUGA) at Old Earth School in Elland.Read more (PDF 66Kb)

Iplas on course to achieve growth targets

Iplas, the manufacturer of the Zyplex range of sustainable building products, is still on target to become a £15m business in the next two years. The Halifax-headquartered business has reported a sharp increase in sales in the last 12 months, up 50 per cent on the previous year. The company, which has achieved its challenging targets in a tough economic climate, has also seen the rate of growth rise in the last six months with a 70 per cent increase for the same period year on year. Companies in tandem with Devon cycle path

Iplas, the manufacturer of the Zyplex range of sustainable building products and partner company, PC Construction, have proved they can go the distance by supplying Ecocrib for a cycle track and footpath, which is part of the National Cycle Network and runs through the Dartmoor National Park.


The £100,000 improvement scheme on the Granite Way, which runs from the Meldon Viaduct to Okehampton, has seen the two companies supply its groundbreaking Ecocrib system - an environmentally-friendly retaining wall made from Zyplex 55. Read more (PDF 73Kb)

New boardwalk is a stroll in the park for volunteers

Iplas, the manufacturer of the Zyplex range of sustainable building products, has shown it’s on the right path by providing material for a new walkway at Newmillerdam Country Park;.

The Halifax-based company worked on the designs for the Lawns Dike Theme Trail with volunteer organisation, Friends of Newmillerdam Country Park, who are building the boardwalk; and which will give access for those with limited mobility and will also be pushchair friendly. . Read more (PDF 90Kb)

Leeds householders urged to help the environment by avoiding new tarmac drives

Leeds householders are being urged to help the environment by reducing the risk of urban flooding from the up to 90 million litres of rainwater believed to be running off newly resurfaced drives and gardens in the area each year. 
Paul Harris, sales and marketing director with Halifax-based Iplas, producer of Zypave, a high-quality, plastic grid surface solution used in Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems, said the problem of urban flooding arises partly because drainage systems are being deluged by rainwater. Iplas expert wins innovation award

Annie-May Hugo, Iplas' Technical Manager, has won a prestigious innovation competition organised by the University of Sheffield as part of the nationwide 'Partnering for Innovation' initiative, for her work on railway sleepers. Annie-May was presented with her prize by Dr Malcolm McKechnie of Reckitt Benckiser (see photo). She was one of seven representatives from companies taking part in the university's Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) who competed for the prize by speaking about their innovation projects. As Iplas' Technical Manager, Annie-May has played a major role in developing and testing Zyplex high performance recycled plastic for a range of structural applications. Read more (PDF 73Kb)

Zyplex on The Alan Titchmarsh Show

Zyplex recycled plastic made a guest appearance on ITV's The Alan Titchmarsh Show on Thursday 20 October in a feature on the best fences on the market. Eco Plastic Wood's fence, made from Zyplex, was among a range of fencing solutions featured on the programme. It was described as a 'fence for life'. Calderdale charity builds towards further success with help from Iplas

Halifax’s Next Step Trust has taken a long stride forward by winning a competition run by a locally-based national market leader. The charity, whose premises are in King Cross Road, provides a stimulating care service to young adults with physical and learning disabilities.
