Leisure & recreation

Products for the leisure and recreation market are increasingly under scrutiny for their environmental credentials. Professionals sourcing these products have their own, similarly tough, performance criteria. That’s why we’ve developed a range of Zyplex recycled plastic products to meet their particular needs, including plastic decking, recycled plastic furniture, Zypave porous paving and plastic fencing.

Zyplex Recycled Plastic Picnic Table, Zypave Recycled Plastic Porous Paving, Zyplex Recycled Plastic Decking

All these Zyplex products are environmentally friendly, cost effective and long lasting. They generally outperform traditional building materials such as wood, especially where strength and stability are concerned. Professionals in the leisure and recreation sectors are using them not just for their environmental benefits but because they are often better suited to the application than other alternatives.

Made from 100% British recycled plastic, our family of blended polymers has been developed to meet the rigorous demands of the different industry sectors we serve. Each Zyplex blend is engineered and tested to ensure the highest levels of consistency and reliability and offers significant performance advantages over traditional materials such as wood, steel and concrete. All four Zyplex blends are ideally suited to leisure applications.

Traditional wooden furniture does not cope well with the extremes of the British climate. Constant exposure to the elements means ongoing and costly maintenance and often the furniture is too wet to use. The stability and durability of this type of furniture is also compromised over time. The challenge was to provide The Travellers Rest, situated in a magnificent position overlooking the Calder Valley, with strong, durable, maintenance free outdoor furniture.

“Our pupils collected bottle tops to contribute towards outdoor furniture for our playground. The furniture has been well used over the last few years and is still in great condition and looking good. It has surprised us that such an exceptional product can be manufactured from waste materials that we all take for granted.”
