Industrial & utilities

Zyplex recycled plastic products are ideally suited to a wide range of industrial applications. And as businesses are having to meet increasingly complex and stringent environmental, building and other legislative requirements, switching from traditional materials to a recycled alternative makes good commercial sense too.

Zyplex Recycled Plastic Lumber, Zyplex Recycled Plastic Bio Solid Dividers

All our Zyplex products are environmentally friendly, cost effective and long lasting. They generally outperform traditional materials such as wood, especially where strength, stability and water resistance are key. Industrial companies and utilities are using them not just for their environmental benefits but because they deliver excellent results. Zyplex products for this sector include coil stops, bio solid dividers and bunds around oil-filled electrical transformers.

Made from 100% British recycled plastic, our family of blended polymers has been developed to meet the rigorous demands of the different industry sectors we serve. Each Zyplex blend is engineered and tested to ensure the highest levels of consistency and reliability and offers significant performance advantages over traditional materials such as wood, steel and concrete. All four Zyplex blends are ideally suited to industrial applications.

Millennium Ribble Link

Millennium Ribble Link

Client: Millennium Ribble Link
Location: Aire and Calder Canals, Lancashire
Blends: Zyplex 55

The Millennium Ribble Link was supported by an environmental fund so innovative building solutions were needed to meet both the requirements of the project and the funding criteria. The ability to cope with permanent immersion in water was a prerequisite but the material also had to offer protection from impact, protect the bank from further erosion and provide safe pedestrian access. The chosen material also had to be virtually maintenance free and easy to install.

“Changes in oil storage regulations, landfill taxes and carbon reduction laws are driving the development of new products for the utilities sector. Recycled products such as Zyplex are proving very effective.”
