Zyplex plastic lumber outdoor theatre at primary school, Leicestershire

Recycled plastic pavilion for primary school

Client: Burton on the Wolds primary school
Location: Leicestershire
Blends: Zyplex 55

This primary school needed a theatre facility but did not have any space within the existing buildings for the children to perform a wide range of creative activities throughout the year, from music to dance to drama. Although initial funding was raised by the PTA and Leicester County Council, ongoing maintenance costs had to be met by the school so headteacher Mr Robinson was keen to keep these to a minimum.

Millennium Ribble Link

Millennium Ribble Link

Client: Millennium Ribble Link
Location: Aire and Calder Canals, Lancashire
Blends: Zyplex 55

The Millennium Ribble Link was supported by an environmental fund so innovative building solutions were needed to meet both the requirements of the project and the funding criteria. The ability to cope with permanent immersion in water was a prerequisite but the material also had to offer protection from impact, protect the bank from further erosion and provide safe pedestrian access. The chosen material also had to be virtually maintenance free and easy to install.

Travellers Rest Public House

Travellers Rest Public House

Client: Travellers Rest Public House
Location: Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire
Blends: Zyplex 55

Traditional wooden furniture does not cope well with the extremes of the British climate. Constant exposure to the elements means ongoing and costly maintenance and often the furniture is too wet to use. The stability and durability of this type of furniture is also compromised over time. The challenge was to provide The Travellers Rest, situated in a magnificent position overlooking the Calder Valley, with strong, durable, maintenance free outdoor furniture.
