Agriculture & equestrian

More than many other markets, consumers involved in agricultural and equestrian activities demand products which are tough, long lasting and cost effective. Increasingly they also want materials which are environmentally friendly. That’s why we’ve developed a range of Zyplex recycled plastic products to meet their needs, including tongue & groove, plastic fencing, Zypave porous paving, gates and walkways.

These Zyplex products generally outperform traditional building materials such as wood, especially where strength and stability are concerned. They also significantly reduce the amount of maintenance that is required, cutting down on labour and cost. Professionals in the agriculture and equestrian industries are using them not just for their environmental benefits but because they are often better suited to the application than other alternatives.

Algae does not grow on Zyplex so it is non slip. It does not leach harmful chemicals so is non toxic to the environment - very important if horses lick it. It’s an inert material so horses cannot eat it. It doesn’t absorb moisture so is easy to hose down.

It doesn’t harbour infections since it does not absorb moisture, and organisms do not eat/grow on it.

Made from 100% British recycled plastic, our family of blended polymers has been developed to meet the rigorous demands of the different industry sectors we serve. Each Zyplex blend is engineered and tested to ensure the highest levels of consistency and reliability and offers significant performance advantages over traditional materials such as wood, steel and concrete. The blends we have developed for this sector are Zyplex 55 and Zyplex 06.

Millennium Ribble Link

Millennium Ribble Link

Client: Millennium Ribble Link
Location: Aire and Calder Canals, Lancashire
Blends: Zyplex 55

The Millennium Ribble Link was supported by an environmental fund so innovative building solutions were needed to meet both the requirements of the project and the funding criteria. The ability to cope with permanent immersion in water was a prerequisite but the material also had to offer protection from impact, protect the bank from further erosion and provide safe pedestrian access. The chosen material also had to be virtually maintenance free and easy to install.

“It’s always been a challenge for people in the agricultural sector to find material which will stand the test of time in difficult
year-round conditions. The weather proof nature of Zyplex makes it ideal for almost every outdoor use.”
